Appointed in July 2018, Huw Wedlock is Director and CEO of the Singapore operation. He brings with him 20 years of industry experience working with financial advisers in multiple jurisdictions. As a committed and passionate individual, Huw will be focusing on raising standards and transparency in the Financial Advisory Industry.
Martin Wright joined the Singapore office in 2007 directly from the financial planning subsidiary of a Top 10 UK Accountancy Practice, after a long spell at one of the world's leading and largest Insurance Brokerage / Pension Actuarial Consultancy. With over 22 years industry experience mostly spent at the highest level, Martin's experience and technical knowledge enable him to provide well rounded in-depth tax-driven financial planning advice on all subjects. Martin also looks after the Pensions Assessment Service. During his time in the UK, Martin achieved the required passes to obtain the CII Advance Financial Planning Certificate.
Ashley Jones joined The Fry Group in August 2010 and has five years experience in the financial services industry. Ashley holds a license to provide financial advice in Singapore. As well as the appropriate Singapore qualifications, he has completed the Certificate in Financial Planning issued by the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK.
He is currently studying for the Internationally recognised Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification.
Paddy Flynn joined The Fry Group as a Financial Planning Consultant in April 2012. Paddy relocated from Ireland to Singapore in the late 2011. Prior to Singapore, Paddy worked as a financial adviser for BDO Private Wealth Management for three years where Paddy specialized in delivering client's tax strategies, total portfolio management and construction, individual and group pension planning and business protection strategies. In 2010, Paddy achieved a Certificate in Stockbroking with BDO Private Wealth Management. Paddy's academic achievements are Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) and Certificate in Pension exams. He also achieved a Masters in Business Studies (MBS) (Hons 1st Class) at the University College of Dublin and a Bachelors of Business Studies (BBS) (Hons 2nd Class) at the University of Limerick
Paddy holds appropriate licenses and qualifications under the Financial Advisers Act in Singapore, issued by the Singapore College of Insurance, the Institute of Banking and the Institute of Banking and Finance. Paddy is also qualified to advise on income protection insurance and as well as health insurance within the Singapore market place.
Ian joined the team in 2012, having resided in Singapore since 2000. He is licensed to provide financial advice by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and is a Certified Financial Planner. In addition, Ian is an Advanced Practitioner with the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore. An active member of The British Chamber of Commerce Singapore, Ian is a committee member of the Professional Services business group.
Gary Smithson joined the Fry Group in January 2018 and brings with him a wealth of knowledge. He has over 20 years experience in retirement, tax and pension planning in both the UK and Singapore. Prior to joining The Fry Group, Gary worked with both individual private clients and SMEs. He was responsible for the stewardship and trusteeship of many personal and corporate pension schemes. Gary has been providing financial advice to expatriates in Singapore and the surrounding region since 2006. Gary is a member of the Personal Finance Society in the UK and is accredited with the UK’s Certificate in Financial Planning. He is currently working towards becoming a Certified Financial Planner and holds all relevant Singapore qualifications.
Toby joined the team in early 2017 and is a UK qualified financial adviser, holding the level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning with the LIBF, the STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Certificate and is studying towards Chartered status. Toby is licensed to provide financial advice by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
Stephen Kelly joined The Fry Group in March 2018. He is head of the Asia Tax Team working with the wider team based in Hong Kong and the UK. Stephen has over 19 years of experience in personal tax, specialising in residency and domicile issues and multi jurisdiction payroll. He was previously responsible for delivering international personal tax planning and UK tax Returns, handling tax award schemes and working with clients on residency issues globally. Stephen is ATT qualified to practice tax.
Jenny joined The Fry Group in March 2017. She helps clients around South East Asia with UK tax compliance and planning solutions. She focuses on helping and advising non-UK resident clients with the tax implications of residency status, domicile, property in the UK and Inheritance Tax. Jenny graduated from Cardiff University with a Bachelor of European Union Studies and is studying towards the ATT qualification.
Jasmine joined The Fry Group in May 2018 and helps clients around South East Asia with UK tax advisory, compliance and planning solutions. Jasmine graduated with a degree in Law from The University of Manchester and has prior experience in Corporate Tax as well as assisting private clients. She is part ACA qualified to practice tax and is currently undertaking other tax qualifications to increase her tax knowledge.
